ECE Music Workshops & Concerts: Stories, Songs, & Family Fun

***

Our ECE music workshops and Kindergarten concert bring families together to explore the joy of music through interactive, story-driven themes tailored to each grade level. These workshops invite families to actively participate alongside their children, creating meaningful musical experiences tied to beloved stories and books. Each session is designed to engage young learners with hands-on activities and interactive performances.

Colors with Pete the Cat

Based on Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin and James Dean, children explored colors through music, rhythm, and movement, making it a vibrant and fun learning experience.

The Nutcracker

With Tchaikovsky's timeless ballet as inspiration, children danced and played along to the magical story of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T.A. Hoffmann. As they immersed themselves in the music, they explored the basics of rhythmic notation and discovered how musicians use melodies and rhythms to express the unique characteristics of each character.

Carnival of the Animals (Le Carnaval des Animaux)

Inspired by the enchanting suite by Camille Saint-Saëns, children discovered music’s ability to portray animals—from pecking hens to graceful swans, slow-paced tortoises to wild running donkeys, and roaming dinosaurs—through imaginative play and sound exploration.

Winter Dance

Inspired by Winter Dance by Marion Dane Bauer, Kindergarten students brought this heartwarming story to life through music and movement during their winter concert. Their performance featured songs, dances, and rhythm activities that celebrated the arrival of winter and the joy of self-expression. Families were enchanted by the creativity and confidence of these young performers.

Special Thanks to the Music Team
